We, my wife and I, went to hospital to have ultrasound examination of the fetus. It found gBabyh has big problem on her heart, which is AV(the atrium and the ventricle) Canal Defect. Usually we have the wall between right and left in heart, but gBabyh does not have the wall. She has only one valve which usually are two in each right side and left side. Doctor explained it is not so difficult to make the wall to separate between right and left, however it is very difficult to make the valves.
gBabyh is moving very well in my wifefs belly now. She will need to have surgery within six month after she will be born. Depending on the result of surgery, she maybe will pass away soon or she will have usual life time even she can not perform the intense movement. It means we can not predict these now till we will see the result of surgery.
What I felt very strange was gWhy will she be able to wait that surgery around six month even she already has a big problem on heart? Does not she need have the surgery just after she will be born?h. The doctor explained to me like it is just natural gYah, the baby does not have stress on heart because baby is just sleeping alwaysh. I see. However I still does not understand wellc
In USA, once we found the baby in motherfs belly has big problem like this, the doctor always asks immediately parents if parents want to have this kind of baby or not. We decided to have her in a second, because 1) there is no influence to my wifefs body and 2) I want to protect a baby as parents' animal instinct.
Thanks to this Baby, I started to think many on glifeh or ghuman lifeh which we are not think deeply in usual life.. How wonderful!
I believe what parents should do for their children is to give gchanceh. In case of normal children, the meaning of gchanceh would be to let children have many different experience to select their way by themselves. However, I need to give this baby chance to live before above normal gchanceh.
It was only the fourteenth week of pregnancy when we found babyfs problem by ultra acoustic sound check. It was very small unborn baby. Her heart is also very small. I was so impressed the doctorfs power of observation. My wife was very shocked because we did not predict any such kind comment by that check.
We got the letter of introduction for UCSF(University of California, San Francisco). We went to UCSF on the same day to meet the medical specialist for unborn babyfs heart. She had first detail check, but the doctor said gPlease come again two weeks later, because the baby is still too small to say anything.h
Two weeks later, we visited there again. We were asked by doctors whether we will have the baby or not.
My wife and I are in very good mind now after we decided clearly to have this baby. We will make best effort to give the chance for this baby to live, but if it will not work, it can not be helped, because nobody will live forever.
Therefore we are embarrassed a little when somebody says g It is pitifulh when we explain the baby. It is not pitiful, it is life for her.
The reason I start to write this report is my conception of life, which is gMost important things in the life is to give influence each other among the people who live in same time.h
The life of this baby maybe will be short. However this baby already gave the big influence to my wife and I. So I start to write her unconscious message to you.
